Check, check, check!!

My parents came in town over the 4th of July weekend, and we attacked our Baby To Do list with a vengeance!!  My dad retired this spring, and my mom's a teacher with the summer off, so they were able to stay almost a week.
Landrie, Mark and I got spoiled rotten. :)

Just like Landrie's room, they helped us paint!

My niece Abbie spent a day with us, and she was in charge of Landrie.  Landrie loved it, and we were able to get so much more done.  Thanks, Abbie!

Such the adventurous one when P-Pa's close by!

"I'm ready, GranJan!"

Peekaboo!

I love her little pigtail loops.  :)

My parents went on our weekly grocery trip.  They were playing "push Landrie across Walmart and make her giggle like crazy" while I picked up my prescription.  I stocked up on bulky and heavy stuff while I had help!  My tailbone went out while they were here, so I ended up spending an entire day on the heating pad.  Time to start taking it easy.  We were so thankful to have help right when we needed it!

My mom already finished Baby Girl's blanket.  Isn't it beautiful??  I can't wait to snuggle our little baby girl up in it!

My parents moved this bed from the playroom to Landrie's room, rearranged the playroom furniture and moved all of Landrie's nursery furniture to the baby's newly painted pink room.  Whew!  I've still got lots of decorating to do in all 3 rooms, but I'm so thankful to have all that moving done!  (Oh, the big girl bed thing is getting it's own post, don't worry!)

I don't have a before of the guest room handy.  At first, it was just a plain guest room.  Then, we got rid of the queen bed and started moving baby things in there, even though it was still the catch all room.  YUCK!  We finally got everything non-baby out of there...
...and my parents finished painting it for us!  Landrie loves to help, so after a few weeks of attempting, Mark and I had only gotten 1.5 walls done!  We love this soft color.

My parents got everything moved in too!  I love the dark wood with the pink!  Landrie was a little confused because the room layouts are identical and all her furniture is in there.  After telling her that the baby will sleep here, she had to get a baby doll (with a pillow, blanket and a Little People toy as a baby doll sized lovey) to put in the crib.  Such a sweet girl!

THANK YOU, Mom and Dad!  We loved visiting with you!  When they left, I felt so much more rested and ready for the baby to make her appearance.  Well, not ready enough for what happened on Thursday.  :)

28 weeks and still growing!

28 weeks= 7 months!
Belly update: It's starting to get more difficult for Landrie to sit in the middle of my lap!  The other day she saw my belly sticking out of the bottom of my tank top, said "BABY!" and put her hand on my belly to feel her kick. :)  We had a big family weekend over Memorial Day weekend, and I had my first contractions when we got home.  Yikes!  They were just Braxton Hicks and didn't hurt, but my stomach got really tight.  I was glad to hear my doctor say that's perfectly normal!

What's Baby Long up to?: Our little GIRL is 14.5 inches long and about 2.5 pounds.  Now we get to hear her precious heartbeat every other week!  I start going to the doctor every two weeks until 36 weeks, then I'll go every week.

Cravings:  What a flip flop!  For the past week, my appetite has gone way down.  Some days I'm back to making myself eat.

Best part of these 2 weeks: I FINALLY picked fabric for the nursery!  It's sooo cute.  I've been adding on to this "nursery ideas" post, and it's the last one on there.  Do you love it??   We started painting last weekend, and her room is starting to look like a baby's room!

I'm looking forward to: Now that I'm in my last trimester, I feel like we're on the home stretch!  We can't wait to meet this little wiggle worm!  Our friends Bill and Kelli "gave birth" this week to their beautiful 2 year old, Lilli Hope.   They are still in China, and are blogging every day about their adventures there.  :)  No matter how you become a mom, there are labor pains for sure!

7 months!!

I'm going to have to switch to a maternity tank top for the next row for sure!  :)

And just because she looked SO cute before bible study yesterday, here's BIG SISTER Landrie Grace!

More Nursery Ideas!

So, I talked with my mom on Mother's Day, and she really encouraged me to make some decisions on this baby's room!!  We've only got 4 months left, and I'm feeling great now, so why not go for it!  Here's a walk though my hours of googling. :)

This one  is ADORABLE!

Michael Miller Gypsy Bandana Kaleidoscope Lime/Pink
Look at the cuteness!

Pretty Princess Custom Crib Bedding
This Etsy shop will make your custom bedding, and you get to choose from these gorgeous fabrics!

The only problem with my selections??  Well...
Here's the adorable main fabric that I used in Landrie's room!  Hmmm....it looks like my taste hasn't changed too much!  I really, really don't want to do another nursery in pink and green.  I mean, I obviously love the combo, but I need to branch out a bit!

My oh my...I am googling and searching as I do this blog post, and I think I may have just struck GOLD!
Look at the cuteness!
BLUE in my baby girl's room??  Maybe...  Click here to see all the fabrics in this line.  SO CUTE!!  The designer made the fabrics in honor of her best friend.  Love it!

Delighted Charm Pack The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake Designs
Oh no!  I LOVE these, but they aren't coming out until September 2011.  :(

Buckingham England Swings Fat Quarter Bundle Rebekah Merkle for Timeless Treasures Fabrics
You have to click on this link to see all the fabrics of this one (the middle one is my fave).  I love the idea of a red, pink and yellow nursery.  It's girly but not too over the top.

Okay, I put together a few of my favorite fabrics from the Sugar and Spice line and stacked them up to see what it would look like.  I was surprised by how girly it turned out with the blue!  So fun!

UPDATE:
I went shopping today and found my new favorite fabrics!  It's the Sweet Nothings line by Riley Blake.
I am in LOVE with it!  I think we have a winner, folks!!!

nursery ideas!

I'm linking up with Lyndsie, a sweet girl who is waiting to adopt!  She's doing a day on nursery ideas, so check out all the fun links there!

I am so excited about decorating Landrie's big girl room (we'll be reusing a lot of her cute nursery things!) and the new baby's nursery!  Kids' rooms offer a chance to do something bold or whimsical that you could never pull off in the main part of your home!  I've been checking out some ideas....

Gender Neutral:
When we were adopting, I looked at a lot of gender neutral nurseries.  You never know if you'll have months or mere minutes to prep!  I liked ones that I could add in some girl or boy touches.

Green and black from here.

This one with orange stripes is fun, but I would leave the brown out.  I'd add in turquoise or hot pink when we got a baby!

I love the red on this one.

BOY nurseries:

Oh my!  I love the paint treatment and this shade of blue with the white!  You can see more pictures of the nursery (complete with gorgeous wood floors) here.

I like the nontraditional colors of this one.

GIRL nurseries:

I know this is the girl section, but the red walls look so cute with this bedding!

Harlington Crib Sheeting
Here's the Pottery Barn bedding from the room shot above.  So fun!

I love the sweet femininity of the petal pink and gray here.  And of course, I LOVE the monogram. :)

How relaxing is this one?  There are lots more pictures at that link too.  That would make her sleep through the night, right? :)

Oh, and here's one more girl one.  It's Landrie's precious pink and green paisley nursery!  We had to put it together in just a few weeks after Brianna chose us!

It's always fun too look at ideas!!  Just 10 more days until we can start decorating with PINK or BLUE!
